Sender ID

Choose the sender displayed on your recipients' phones.

What is it?

The Sender ID is the name or number shown as the sender when a recipient receives your SMS. It can be an alphanumeric name (your brand name) or a short code.

What is possible depends on the country and the operator: depending on the destination, the Sender ID may have to be registered in advance, or be replaced by a number. Tell us your destination countries and we will explain the applicable rules before you start sending.

Why a company needs it

  • Be recognised on arrival

A message shown under your company name is identified more easily than one from an unknown number.

  • Build trust

For a security code or a bank alert, the user must know who the message comes from.

  • Carry your brand identity

The same sender on all your sends strengthens the consistency of your communication.

  • Meet operator rules

In some countries a Sender ID must be registered with the operator or the regulator; in others it can be replaced by a number.
